the aura, body language, past
life or whatever, it somehow shows. Adopt a slope shouldered
stoop, bend the head slightly so one near looks up to people
and, almost guaranteed, someone will pick on you, for one
reason or another. Adopt the feeling and the body shows
it, and the aura as well. Stand up straight, breathe easily,
look at people with a near smile and don't react. Then most
people will be nice to one. Round the shoulders, stoop slightly
forward, as if taking a running leap at things and people
step back. It just happens not to be easy to make the body
do this because the triggering system is aura, feelings,
body posture. Change the aura and the rest follows. If you
cannot see the aura, then what? Basically the aura is our
feelings. At first we register only after the robot took
over. One has to get in front of the robot. Our choice of
words and metaphor or images betrays where and how the robot
hides.
If this is too much to stomach,
look around the navel. If it is too much to carry, neck
and shoulders should be it. I cannot handle it, indicates
shoulders and arms. I wish I could get away from it all,
go for the legs. The standard diseases: sore neck, sore
back, stomach ulcers, rheumatism, tiredness all indicate
something. Our body can stand abuse for some 30 to 40 years,
after which it gives up. We can call this chakras or acupoints,
numb spots, it is all the same. We have some thousands of
them. The standard seven are only a simple access to all
this. They should all, so to speak, freeflow, but they are
blocked. One can also collect instances of typical things
we do we don't want to do but do all the same. Make up a
rounded out drama or script and ten to one the actors in
your play turn out to be childhood adult figures who did
this in front of you or to you. It needs but one strong
or many mild events. Children are high speed learners and
they learn anything that gives.
As teenagers we do a first round of what
we experienced to do as children. It takes, on average,
some two three rounds before it begins to annoy us enough
that some of the things we do are not what we want to do
or not us. Besides we need some maturity to regain our powers
to remake or rebirth our selves. We can either tackle this
individual bit by individual bit or tackle it as a plot
or theme that is our life's lesson. Mine, for instance is
impatience. I know rather well how to tinker up a change
in our self or psyche. So rather than give the person the
freedom and right to do this in their own right, at their
own pace, in my eagerness to help I rush in. It does not
really help that person because then they have to come back
to me to do it for them again. Doing it for ourselves to
ourselves gives us a better, more intimate insight in how
it works which also helps with the next round in this game
of life.
We can play boss, seek to get even, let
others suffer as we did, play victim, hide way, play brick
wall so nobody can enter, collect lots of money to make
us imagine we are powerful, and many other things. Curiously
our society seem well engineered to do this with our jobs.
What I try to do here is provide the ingredients to help
ourselves with. We need to become objective, detached, non
identified, self remember, wake up from our sleep. All these
phrases point to the same thing, to become master in our
own house. We only borrow the house, our body, the furniture,
our habits and feelings, our minds from the universal pool.
But it is up to us how we use this. What we need most is
the courage to stand up for ourselves and be ourselves.
This being ourselves is a constant guessing game. How could
I know what this self is until it does something. Doing
this becomes a constant delight because there is always
something new to experience, to learn, to savour and enjoy.
Having a fixed personality, rather predictable and life
becomes so boring we have to fall asleep. Some people like
it that way, but not too many.
Life under-capacitates us. There is much
more to us

than needed just to live. The spare capacity
is there to reach beyond our limited self, go higher, go
spiritual, which last means only non-material. We can set
this spare capacity, our potential, to work for us. A long
time ago I realised that the conscious mind is but to upper
bit of an iceberg, below awareness, which actually runs
the whole show. So I dedicated to my unconscious, so miscalled,
the ability to help me grow up. It is, actually super conscious,
but asleep. It makes a good servant but a poor boss. If
we live a lie then it helps us lie. Should want the truth,
mainly about ourselves, it will help us find it. It will
set up situations and events that enable us to find it.
Here every crisis and mishap is an opportunity to learn,
explore and discover. This is also one reason why people
on the path or journey, as it is called, quite often, after
deciding to move will have a bad time of it for a while.
The unconscious is testing us: Do we really mean it? Staying
acceptant of whatever comes eases this up more. You want
to learn? Then don't pre-decide what is to happen to you.
All this can help us find our life's lesson.
Quite often it sums up in one word. In our society tolerance
and acceptance of others, in all their variety is one of
the main ones. Self hate or dislike is another one. Greed,
though much mentioned, is not one. Greed goes mainly with
how our society plays us. Unless we adopt greed as one of
our motives we can hardly play our social game. So the exploitation
of greed in others is one. Many of us exploit others, for
several reasons. One is to prove, to our satisfaction how
good, better, smarter, etc. we are. Put others down and
you put yourself up. But apart from these socially on offer
lessons or addictions there are personal ones too. We have
all lived many lives before, or elsewhere or whereover since
'up there' time does not exist. But some of us are slow
learners. Carl Jung mentions that anything we make ourselves
blind to we have to repeat, over and over again until we
will admit. To start this way it helps to accept oneself,
warts and all, faults and all, bad and good and all. We
are none of us perfect and all of us learners. If we were
not we would not have to come back, again and again. My
main aim in life is now, not to be perfect but simply human.
If you imagine being perfect is easy, try being just and
only human. Nobody promised you a rose garden.
I have written a book about the mechanics
of how we use our mind. It is called 'The Glue and Solvent
of the Universe'. It is about how we can bind and unbind
or leave alone whatever. Its beauty is that it can be adapted
to map and handle any pattern. It is not a simple or easy
book because it is about the simple and how to contrive
it. And to arrive at the really simple is far from simple.
It was, originally used by ancient man as an Art of Memory
device to stuff as much as possible between the ears, before
we figured out how to write. Once you realise and register
what it is and how it works you will also recognise that
it is in daily, everywhere use in our society still. Instead
of having the use of our real mind it has an implant that
is the myth and model of our world, which is also not the
real world.
Again. You don't get a "how to", only the
ingredients for the doing of that. Every individual can
use it in their own individual ways. I call it our ratcage.
You could also sing: 'We all live in a Yellow submarine
and cannot find the periscope' to look beyond ourselves.
It shows you how we are all made to be and do the same.
That makes a good start to explore how to be oneself because
with that you can recognise every time the social sausage
machine tries to homogenise you. It makes a kind of negative
getting away from trick, at the same time you reach into
the positive being yourself. You are then no longer, as
so many of us now feel, trapped.
